Smartway Builders collects personal information through this competition entry form to:
- administer the Kāpiti Women's Expo Build Smart Competition;
- verify eligibility;
- contact entrants where necessary in relation to the competition;
- select and contact the winner;
- understand the type, timing and source of interest in Smartway's renovation and new-build services;
- assess the effectiveness of Smartway's Expo participation and promotional activity;
- and, where an entrant has separately opted in, provide relevant future marketing communications.
Smartway will collect only the information reasonably required for these purposes.
Smartway may collect:
- name;
- email address;
- mobile number;
- suburb;
- whether the entry is for the entrant or someone they know;
- project type;
- project timing;
- the entrant's description of the proposed home change/project;
- how the entrant first heard about the competition;
- brand-awareness responses;
- competition consent records;
- and optional marketing consent.
Fields marked as required are necessary for Smartway to:
- administer a valid competition entry;
- contact the winner;
- confirm eligibility;
- and evaluate the effectiveness of the competition.
An entrant may choose not to provide the information, but Smartway may then be unable to accept the entry.
The information will be held by Smartway Builders and may be accessed by:
- authorised Smartway personnel;
- service providers used to host or manage the competition form, CRM or email communications;
- and other service providers only where reasonably necessary to administer the competition.
If an entrant selects "Someone I know", Smartway will not ask the entrant to provide that person's name, email address, mobile number or other personal contact information at the initial entry stage.
If the referral entry is selected as the provisional winner, Smartway will contact the entrant and ask them to introduce the nominated person.
Smartway will then collect the nominated person's personal information directly from that person, with their knowledge and involvement.
Entering the competition does not automatically subscribe an entrant to Smartway marketing.
Marketing consent should be obtained separately using an unticked checkbox:

This consent is optional and is not required to enter the competition.
Entrants have the right to request access to, or correction of, personal information held about them.

Smartway will retain competition information only for as long as reasonably required for:
- competition administration;
- reporting;
- lawful business records;
- and permitted follow-up.
Information that is no longer required should be securely deleted or anonymised in accordance with Smartway's privacy practices.
